Detox at the Cellular Level.
8-week antioxidant protocol backed by 5 clinical studies and decades of redox biology research
Glutathione (GSH) is a tripeptide (gamma-glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine) that serves as the body's master antioxidant — the most abundant intracellular thiol and the primary defense against oxidative stress, xenobiotic toxicity, and immune dysregulation. Every cell in the body synthesizes and depends on glutathione, with concentrations reaching 1-10 mM intracellularly — 100-1000x higher than in plasma.

Glutathione is the most important molecule you need to stay healthy and prevent disease — yet most people have never heard of it. It is the secret to prevent aging, cancer, heart disease, dementia, and more. I call it the mother of all antioxidants.
Advocates injectable glutathione for optimal tissue delivery. Uses subcutaneous glutathione routinely in clinical practice for detoxification, immune support, and chronic illness. Recommends 600-1200 mg subcutaneous injection 1-3x per week for therapeutic protocols.

Dr. Nayan Patel
Pharmacist, Glutathione Researcher
PharmD with 25+ years in clinical pharmacy. Author of 'Glutathione Revolution.' Expert on glutathione bioavailability and metabolism.
Glutathione is the body's master detoxifier and the most powerful antioxidant we produce. It recycles vitamins C and E, supports every phase of liver detoxification, and is critical for immune cell function. When glutathione drops, everything else follows.
Emphasizes that route of delivery matters enormously for glutathione. Subcutaneous injection achieves immediate tissue distribution, far superior to other routes. Recommends 200-600 mg subcutaneous injection for research protocols.

Dr. Dean Jones
Professor of Biochemistry, Emory University
Director, Emory Clinical Biomarkers Laboratory. World's leading authority on redox biology and glutathione systems. Over 300 publications on thiol redox biology.
The glutathione system is not just an antioxidant — it is the central hub of the cellular redox signaling network. GSH/GSSG ratio controls hundreds of redox-sensitive signaling pathways including NF-κB, Nrf2, and HIF-1α. It is the thermostat of cellular redox biology.
Emphasizes that glutathione status (GSH/GSSG ratio) is a better predictor of health span than any single biomarker. Notes that reduced GSH is the active form — oxidized GSSG must be recycled by glutathione reductase using NADPH. Adequate selenium (for glutathione peroxidase) is essential for the system to function.

Founding President, Bastyr University
ND, Editor-in-Chief of Integrative Medicine: A Clinician's Journal. Author of 'The Toxin Solution.' 40+ years in natural and integrative medicine. Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board of Bioclinic Naturals.
We are swimming in a sea of toxins. Glutathione is the body's primary tool for conjugating and excreting these toxins. Phase II liver detoxification is glutathione-dependent. When glutathione is depleted, toxins accumulate and disease follows.
Uses subcutaneous glutathione extensively for environmental toxin exposure, mold illness, and chronic inflammatory conditions. Recommends 200-600 mg subcutaneous injection, 2-3x per week during active detoxification. Notes synergy with N-acetylcysteine (NAC) for sustained GSH production.

Protocolo de Dosificación
3 FasesRégimen de dosificación paso a paso compilado de profesionales líderes e investigación clínica.
Rapid intracellular glutathione repletion. GSH is rapidly taken up by cells via gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase cleavage and resynthesis. Loading establishes tissue pools before transitioning to maintenance. Injection may cause brief stinging (pH-dependent).
Sustained antioxidant defense during peak detoxification window. Glutathione peroxidase and GST activity reach optimal levels. Monitor for potential sulfur sensitivity (rare). Can split dose to 200 mg AM/PM for steadier levels.
Long-term antioxidant maintenance. Can supplement with oral NAC (600-1200 mg/day) to support endogenous GSH synthesis between injections. Adjust frequency based on oxidative stress burden, toxin exposure, and clinical response.
Add 3 mL bacteriostatic water to 1500 mg vial = 500 mg/mL. 200 mg = 0.4 mL; 400 mg = 0.8 mL; 600 mg = 1.2 mL. Solution should be clear and colorless to faintly yellow.
Glutathione is an endogenous tripeptide — no cycling strictly required. However, breaks allow assessment of endogenous GSH production capacity. Consider 8 weeks on, 4 weeks off (with oral NAC support during off-period). Resume if oxidative stress markers or subjective symptoms return.
Lyophilized: -20°C for 24+ months. Reconstituted: 2-8°C, use within 14 days (reduced glutathione is susceptible to oxidation). Protect from light and air exposure. Discard if solution turns yellow or cloudy (indicates oxidation to GSSG).
Subcutaneous injection into abdominal tissue, rotating sites. Inject slowly over 15-30 seconds. Injection may cause brief stinging due to pH. Subcutaneous depot provides sustained tissue delivery. Rotate between abdomen, upper thigh, and deltoid areas to minimize site reactions.

Mecanismo de Acción
3 vías biológicas distintas a través de las cuales opera este péptido.
ROS Scavenging & Glutathione Peroxidase Cycle
Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) uses GSH to reduce hydrogen peroxide and lipid hydroperoxides, while glutathione reductase (GR) regenerates GSH from GSSG using NADPH.
- GPx converts 2GSH + H₂O₂ → GSSG + 2H₂O — neutralizing the most abundant cellular ROS
- GR regenerates GSSG → 2GSH using NADPH, completing the cycle
- Intracellular GSH concentrations (1-10 mM) are 100-1000x higher than plasma — GSH is an intracellular-dominant antioxidant
- GSH also directly scavenges hydroxyl radicals, peroxynitrite, and superoxide
Forman et al. (2009) Mol Aspects Med; Jones (2006) Free Radic Biol Med
Phase II Conjugation & Detoxification
Glutathione S-transferases (GSTs) conjugate GSH to electrophilic toxins, drugs, and carcinogens, rendering them water-soluble for biliary or renal excretion.
- GSTs represent the largest family of detoxification enzymes — 8 classes, dozens of isoforms
- Conjugates environmental toxins (heavy metals, pesticides, PAHs), drug metabolites (acetaminophen-NAPQI), and endogenous waste (lipid peroxides)
- Acetaminophen toxicity is fundamentally a glutathione depletion event — NAC works by replenishing GSH
- Hepatic GSH is the primary shield against xenobiotic damage — glutathione depletion below 30% is clinically dangerous

Immune Cell Redox Regulation
Intracellular GSH levels directly control T-cell proliferation, NK cell cytotoxicity, and macrophage function through redox-sensitive signaling cascades.
- T-cell receptor signaling requires reducing conditions — GSH depletion blocks IL-2 production and clonal expansion
- NK cell cytotoxicity increases 2-fold with GSH supplementation in healthy adults
- Macrophage respiratory burst (oxidative killing of pathogens) depends on GSH for self-protection
- Dendritic cell antigen presentation is redox-sensitive — GSH optimizes the adaptive immune response

NAD+ drives mitochondrial energy production, which generates ROS as a byproduct. Glutathione neutralizes this oxidative load, allowing cells to maximize ATP output safely.
The fundamental cellular energy/defense duo: maximum mitochondrial output with maximum oxidative protection. Each enables the other to function optimally.

Both glutathione and TA1 are critical for immune function through complementary mechanisms — GSH for lymphocyte proliferation and redox signaling, TA1 for T-cell differentiation and dendritic cell maturation.
Complete immune optimization: glutathione provides the metabolic foundation that immune cells need to function, while TA1 directly activates the adaptive immune response.

Senescent cell apoptosis from FOXO4-DRI releases oxidized proteins, lipid peroxides, and other debris. Glutathione conjugates and detoxifies this cellular waste.
Cleaner senolytic clearance with reduced inflammatory rebound: glutathione buffers the oxidative burst from mass senescent cell die-off.

BPC-157 drives tissue repair through angiogenesis and cell migration, processes that generate significant oxidative stress. Glutathione protects newly forming tissue from oxidative damage during healing.
Optimized healing: BPC-157 drives repair while glutathione ensures the repair environment remains reducing and non-destructive. Particularly valuable for GI repair protocols.
Especificaciones
Cómo Funciona Glutathione
Glutathione is the most abundant intracellular thiol antioxidant, serving as the primary cellular defense against oxidative stress. It directly scavenges reactive oxygen species and serves as a cofactor for glutathione peroxidases and glutathione-S-transferases. The reduced thiol group on its cysteine residue donates electrons to neutralize ROS and electrophilic toxins. Glutathione also maintains vitamins C and E in their reduced (active) forms, regulates the nitric oxide cycle, and is essential for immune cell function, particularly T-lymphocyte proliferation.
