Thymosin Alpha 1

CAS: 62304-98-7

Thymosin Alpha 1 is a naturally occurring thymic peptide that acts as an immunomodulator by enhancing T-cell maturation, differentiation, and function. It stimulates the production of Th1 cytokines (IL-2, IFN-gamma) while suppressing Th2 responses, activates dendritic cells and natural killer cells, and enhances antibody responses to vaccines. It signals through TLR2, TLR9, and TLR3 on dendritic cells and modulates the mTOR pathway for immune cell differentiation.

Molecular formula
C129H215N33O55
Molecular weight
3108.28 Da
Sequence
Ac-SDAAVDTSSEITTKDLKEKKEVVEEAEN (28 amino acids, N-terminal acetylation)

LL37

CAS: 154947-66-7

LL-37 is the only human cathelicidin antimicrobial peptide. It adopts an amphipathic alpha-helical structure that directly disrupts microbial membranes through electrostatic interactions with negatively charged lipid bilayers, creating pores that cause bacterial lysis. Beyond direct antimicrobial activity, LL-37 modulates innate immunity by serving as a chemotactic agent for neutrophils, monocytes, and T-cells, promoting wound repair biology through keratinocyte migration and angiogenesis, and modulating TLR signaling.

LLGDFFRKSKEKIGKEFKRIVQRIKDFLRNLVPRTES (37 amino acids)

KPV

CAS: 67727-97-3

KPV is a C-terminal tripeptide fragment of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It exerts potent inflammatory-pathway effects by inhibiting NF-kB activation, suppressing pro-inflammatory cytokine production (TNF-alpha, IL-6, IL-1beta), and entering cells to directly interact with inflammatory signaling cascades in the nucleus. Unlike full alpha-MSH, KPV does not bind melanocortin receptors and has no melanogenic activity, making its inflammatory-pathway effects receptor-independent and intracellular.

Molecular formula
C16H30N4O4
Molecular weight
342.43 Da
Sequence
Lys-Pro-Val (tripeptide; C-terminal fragment of alpha-MSH)

Research Protocol Notes

Thymosin Alpha 1 is typically front-loaded at higher doses for the first 2 weeks, then reduced to maintenance. LL37 and KPV can be used continuously. Published immunology research references these peptides in seasonal immune modulation and post-illness recovery contexts.

Why this kit exists

Why these compounds are paired in the literature

Plain-English summaries of the mechanisms and published pairings that make this kit coherent for real research work.

1
Thymosin Alpha 1

Thymosin Alpha 1 is one of the most clinically studied immune peptides, approved in over 35 countries. Research demonstrates enhanced T-cell maturation and function (PMID: 20433901).

2
LL37

LL-37 (Cathelicidin) is an endogenous human antimicrobial peptide. Published research shows broad-spectrum activity against bacteria, viruses, and fungi while modulating innate immune responses (PMID: 15817396).

3
KPV

KPV is a tripeptide derived from alpha-MSH. Studies demonstrate potent inflammatory-pathway activity through NF-κB pathway modulation without immunosuppressive effects (PMID: 16156689).
