How ARA290 (Cibinetide) Works
ARA-290 is a synthetic 11-mer peptide that selectively activates the innate repair receptor (IRR), a heterodimer of the erythropoietin receptor (EPOR) and the beta common receptor (betacR/CD131). Unlike EPO, ARA-290 does not stimulate erythropoiesis or increase red blood cell production. Instead, it activates tissue-protective and inflammatory-pathway signaling cascades including JAK2/STAT3, PI3K/Akt, and MAPK pathways. This provides neuroprotection, inflammatory-pathway effects, and repair-signaling research without the thrombotic risks of EPO.
