How GHRP-2 Works

GHRP-2 is a synthetic hexapeptide that stimulates GH release by acting as an agonist at the ghrelin receptor (GHSR-1a) on pituitary somatotrophs. It triggers GH secretion through a phospholipase C/protein kinase C pathway, independent of GHRH signaling. GHRP-2 also modestly increases cortisol and prolactin levels, stimulates appetite via ghrelin receptor activation in the hypothalamus, and can suppress somatostatin tone.
